Changing the Borland Database Engine"Local Share" to true.

ALL multi-userapplications of GreenKeeper Pro MUST CHANGE the local share to TRUE!!!!
Your data files may becomecorrupted if you do not!!!

Multi-user means more than ONE computer.  If in doubt CHANGE IT!!

******* Local Sharing setto "TRUE" will tell the database engine to watch for more than oneoperator to be entering data or making sales at the same time.  If it isnot set then there is a large chance that you will save a new product only tofind that the product did not get saved.

Step 1

  InWindows XP or XP Home click "Start" and then choose "ControlPanel"
In Windows 98 or Windows 2000 the control panel is found by clicking"Start" then "Settings" and then "Control Panel".

Step 2

Your computer may show the control panel in severaldifferent ways.  No matter how it is shown double click on "BDEAdministrator".  If your computer is setup for single click action youwill need only click once.

Step 3

Click on the configuration tab.   Your computer may already show the

"SYSTEM"- "INIT" menu choice if itdoes then you may skip the next step.

Step 4

  Click on the + to the left of "Configuration".  This will expandshowing the "drivers" choice and
the "System" choice.

Step 5

Your computer may already show the "INIT" under"SYSTEM", if not then.

 Click on the + to the left of "System".  This will again expand your selection choices, showing
"INIT" and "Formats". 

Step 6

Click on "INIT" and the right pane will now showvarious selections for the Configuration INIT.

**** If "Local Share" already says"TRUE" then no change is required and you may exit the BDE
Administrator by clicking on "Object" and choosing"Exit"  If Local Share is set to FALSE then you
must follow steps 7 thru 11 below.

Step 7

Click in the box to the right of  "LOCALSHARE" and a drop down selection arrow will show the choices FALSE andTRUE,
select "TRUE".

Step 8

      Make SURE that Local Shareis set to "TRUE" then click on "Object" in the upper left
      corner of the screen and choose"Apply".

Step 9

      When asked if you wish tosave edits to INIT click on "OK".

Step 10

You will then be warned that all BDE applications
(GreenKeeper POS or Manage) must be closed and re-started for the change to takeeffect. Click "OK".

Step 11

You can now exit from the BDE Administrator.

     You exit by clicking on"Object" and choosing "Exit".
